Dublin is a really expensive city to stay in, there’s very little in terms of bargain hotels. If you want reasonably priced you’re going to have to stay outside the city such as in my save option.
SAVE: £114.95 Ibis Dublin. A 20 minute tram ride from the city centre but a decent, reasonably priced basic hotel.
SPEND: £279.57 The Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge. A luxurious option close to the RDS Arena that’s a short bus ride into the city centre.
SPLURGE: £396.82 The Croke Park Hotel. A classy hotel that has a wonderful reputation for being a great place to stay with kids where the staff go above and beyond.
ACTIVITIES: £33.29 (Splurge Option)
SAVE: €8 Adults (Under 12’s free)
Explore the historic heart of the city with a self guided tour around Dublin Castle.
SPEND: €30.50 (1 adult & 1 child)
Who doesn’t love a trip to the zoo? Opened in the 1800’s Dublin Zoo is one of the world’s oldest and most popular zoos and at under £27 for entry for an adult and child it’s a really reasonable way to spend the day. That’s one of my favourite things about zoo’s, you usually spend a good few hours at them so they can work out to be a much better option if you’re trying to travel on a budget.
SPLURGE: €38 (1 adult and 1 child)
Adults and children will love a trip on the Viking Splash Tour! See the sights of Dublin in a brand new fun way. Get your Viking on and roar at tourists you see while exploring the city by road and water on a World War 2 amphibious vehicle.
TOTAL – 1 x Adult and 1 x (6 year old) Child
Activities: £33.29 (Splurge option)
– Flights, transfers, hotels and an activity are included each week
– All prices (and currency conversions) correct as of the day it’s published (bear in mind with cheap flights they can go up or down in price quite rapidly).
– All costs based on 1 adult and 1 (6 year old) child as that’s how I roll but I’ll include the prices where possibleso you can quickly work out how much it will cost if you’re a couple/bigger family etc.
– Cost of travel to the airport/airport parking is not included as obviously everyone lives in different places and has different transport options. – The price of food is also not included so make sure you add this into your calculations based on your family or group
